“B” that came in our life last decade

Alphabet, 3D Albhabet, Letters, ColorSo, change is constant they say. And so are our ways of life. Not only did some gadgets made way to our homes but some words too came hopping in this decade which was completely new to us. So to continue my series here are the words from B that made an entry in our lives.

Bestie

Definition: a person’s best friend.

Bromance

The word bromance even took an entry in the Oxford English Dictionary, where it is described as an “intimate and affectionate friendship between men.”

“Binge-watch”

Definition: to watch multiple episodes of (a television program) in rapid succession, typically by means of DVDs or digital streaming.

“Bookaholic”

Definition: a habitual and prolific reader; a compulsive book buyer.

Bae

The word bae rose to popularity in 2013, and by 2014 it had made the list of Oxford Dictionaries’ shortlist for Word of the Year in 2014. The dictionary defined bae as “a term of endearment for one’s romantic partner”  No, it’s not short for babe or baby. The letters actually represent the phrase “before anyone else,” usually referring to the speaker’s significant other.

Bottle Episode

Though these two words are just a way of saying an inexpensively produced TV episode, many believe it all started with Star Trek. When they were on the ship, actors were confined to one space, which made it easier and less pricey for producers.

Bug-Out Bag

We’re guessing The Walking Dead fans all have their own customized bug-out bag, designed to hold any survival supplies they need for life- or world-threatening emergency.

Bluebird Day

There’s just something about a sunny, cloudless day. It’s often referred to in sports, but everyone can enjoy one of these Instagram-worthy afternoons.

So with word Gyan, I’m sure you are more informed to check your latest dictionaries and update yourself.

Let’s check out the apps that made way in our mobiles-

BYJU’S

Do I need to say about this wonderful app made for our school-going kids? Educational content, courses for entrance exams, solution sot all topics and a boon for children and parents too.

BYJU’S – The Learning App is the common brand name for Think and Learn Private Ltd., a Bangalore-based educational technology and online tutoring firm founded in 2011 by Byju Raveendran at Bangalore. Byju Raveendran established the company with his brother Riju Raveendran and wife Divya Gokulnath.

B for Blockchain

Blockchain also somehow made its way in finance minister Arun Jaitley’s Union budget speech. The real impact of blockchain, however, will be seen in the next few years. We are still scratching the surface with it.
