Mother – A great housekeeper, homework advisor, and health care provider to her kids.

Mother, the word in itself brings a long list of To-Dos. We know the roles she plays, Mother a great housekeeper, and also the health care provider. She even is a hairstylist and even a homework advisor. Mothers check their children’s fevers, cook them noodle soup, make them comfortable, and many other “doctoring” duties. In the long run, mothers probably do much more than their average physician and for a lot less pay! Today is Alphabet H in my series Mom’s Be Everything, So let’s check out a few roles mom plays from the letter “H”.

Housekeeper

As a mother you will have the opportunity to clean all kinds of messes—toys scattered all over the house, those tiny lego pieces, clothes left on the floor, cups left in the living room, spilled food, dirty diapers, pencil shavings, socks, vomit, the list goes on. But, one day your child may help clean the kitchen, and…well, here’s for wishful thinking. It again comes to our charter of duties to make them aware of these duties and make them available and responsible to help us in daily chores.

When I say that I also agree that Housekeeping is not motherhood. Your success as a mother is not defined by domestic duties. Domesticity does not equal motherhood. ⁣Your “success” as a mother is not defined by domestic duties. Domestic duties are part of being an adult, it’s just that after being a mother we learn it a better way.

Mother a great housekeeper is a statement, but even if you are not good at housekeeping, chill. You are a good mom because you love your child, and you try to help them learn the things they need to learn. You worry about your kids, you spend time with them, you plan for their future, and so much more.⁣

Health care provider

No doubt, moms are the “Chief Healthcare Officer” of the home. We can sure learn the best healthcare from our Dr. moms at home. They are always ready with the first health care at the home level, be it injury or scratch or ache or itch too.

Be it ghar ke nuskhe or ghar ki dawai, the home made medicines which are prevalent since ages now, moms have solution in them for almost everything.

Hair Stylist

I had to wear this hat, especially during lockdown when all salons were closed and it was risky taking kids outside. Yes, I styled my hair and even my kids too. When I call moms the hairstylist I know it mostly consists of impatient clients. Especially those who will yell and cry even after the show is over.

Homework keeper

Yes, it’s not easy being a mommy. Schoolwork, homework, we ensure it’s all done and complete. We are like homework completion ensure and naggers if it’s not complete on time. So hence Mother a great housekeeper as well as a good homework keeper too.

Handy (wo)man

Handywoman I call this as mothers are fixer of the things, anything not in our sight, we just have to call one name… Mommy!!! She even becomes a toy assembler, puzzle doer, and a lot of such roles which she plays in her daily life without fail.

This is the letter “H” in the journey of motherhood where we explore Mom’s roles in their children’s lives. We surely can say Mom’s are everything for her kids, you name it we have it. Do read my earlier letters to enjoy the AtoZ of motherhood roles. This post is written as a part of the A2Z challenge, organized by Blogchatter. You will love to read how moms are our guides and guardians for life.
