Ep 14 – Green Talks with Panchtatwa Girl Ft. Ritu Singh from Nayi Soch

“There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Ritu is known as a swatch lady with her nayi soch. Nayi soch is her initiative and she has come up with this nayi soch to utilize cloth swatches. She has been collecting the swatches and pieces from tailors and reusing them to make dresses etc and then giving them to orphanages and old age homes. Moreover, Ritu by profession is a fashion designer and has done MBA in International business. Notably, She is featured on various news channels like Dainik Bhaskar, etv Bharat, Indian mirror today, and Pratham Tehelka News, and she has been in better India too.

Nayi Soch

Worth a mention, that Ritu Singh with her Nayi soch is giving clothes a new life. She and her team make mats, pouches, folders, and clothes from these Fabric Clothes/ swatches/ patches. In addition, these small swatches are even used to design suits, dresses, or even covers, and other upholstery materials. If we start paying attention to these small pieces before throwing and clogging the planet we can try to take one step toward conscious and sustainable living practices. To say nothing, we all know, that the global fashion industry produces over 92 million tonnes of waste per year. Important to realize, that these kinds of initiatives are a step toward saving landfills.
