Monsoon Magic to Madness
Monsoon once again! Monsoon Magic, reminds me of the story of Vrishti, vrishti means rain and she was born on the day when it poured heavily that day. The story of a girl or maybe every girl who when becomes a mother takes life differently. It’s a circle of life that goes on and one day suddenly the rains are no more romantic but are filled with random realizations. This is the circle which makes monsoon magic in the first phase but then it becomes madness. Even if its magic or madness, never stop playing the monsoon melodies as its the mania of the season.
Chapter one – Rains
That smell of mud,
the feel of the first rain.
One cloud so black,
With a stock around the clock.
Droplets on leaves,
Designs they leave.
Smell of earth
so fresh Petrichor
collecting of water in your bags
Hold of Hail consists of tiny balls of ice in hands
Fresh aroma after a summer downpour is one of life’s pleasing scents
Maonsoons and Rains means new life, Rains are growth, Rains are life. A new thought is born. They were alike, they were special, They were the gift of rains and so they named them Vrishti and Barkha both with the meaning Rain. Time went on and so the girls grew up. They were precious beautiful gifts to the family. They excelled beyond expectations and grew up beautifully. Lets walk in the life of Barkha for now, she had always loved the rains since her childhood.
Chapter two – Fire
Hot mud refreshed with rains,
Like the moments have baked.
Message of clouds,
That moves across the grounds.
Feel of the first kiss,
No one ever wants to miss.
Smell of pakoras and tea
Bowl Maggi and beside me is “he”
First love of life
bite of 1st love life
Taste of the kiss
Cups of coffee and togetherness
But the rain the very reason for their meaning, their life, their existence, their joy became the only reason for the end of it all. With him, it felt everything. The growing fire in each other’s soul and heart was of fondness and togetherness.
Chapter three – Sky
It was the day of another heavy downpour, she was leaving the city for a new life, a new beginning. Our monsoon queen was getting married. Leaving her small pretty hill station she was heading to that big city of strangers. When she looked out of the window she was clueless and today the rains were not in her favor.
Barkha started hating Barkha. baarish. Rains and showers were her lifelines and somewhere she felt leaving her small city full of life will change her life and the rains won’t have the same meaning from now on. In her thoughts she felt the rains and the waters of that other city will detach her from her roots. When she saw them from the tiny window of her flight, they didnt amuse her like it always did. She was habitual of seeing skies large and bright, natural and vibrant. The closed aircraft and small cities were not for her. She was feeling that her sky will change her life. The sky there may not be blue or may be true, and monsoon magic will soon be gone.
Chapter four – Air
The air was filled with new hopes and dreams. now the rains in the new city were indicating another new life is coming. The monsoon queen soon got blessed with the first dew drop of her own. and then a mother was born. And here came the twist in the story. There was an aura of love, growth, newness in the air. Air had bought a change in her life. She was no more the monsoon queen or princess, the air was filled with responsibility, priority and motherly duties. She loved the droplets on windowpane but ahead of it, she found difficulty in driving too. The girl who had enjoyed rains whole her life finds it good to see on TV only or only enjoy it from your window.
Rains are growth
They are beginning
Monsoons are harbinger of a new happening
Monsoon magic make it happen
Chapter five – Earth
As soon as the rain princess became Mother Earth she Loved rains but hated it’s after effects, monsoon upset her sometimes. Now the irony of life is monsoon queen started hating rains. but-but-but….. there is always an exception, isn’t it????
WHY? A lot of reasons. she had started feeling that monsoon or rainy season is good only if you are looking at it from your window or balcony, or driving intact inside a fancy car. once you get down or put your foot on the ground the definition changes.
And here our monsoon queen turned mother shared very practical reasons for hating rains which she had loved to the core for 25 years of her life. This chapter is for all those mothers and women who always say life changes after you become a mother and this is one example.
- Rainwater, drizzle, and downpour now felt like It’s muddy, dirty, filthy and all wet.
- Scent and smell of rains were now felt like It’s smelly and sweaty all the time.
- Pouring rain that was seen from the window suddenly shows that now Clothes don’t dry even if you keep them under fan after drying in the washing machine, and one has to wash clothes daily so its heaps of clothes on a clothesline and everywhere in the house.
- Love, Romance is now seen in viral infections, sneezing, jaundice. Cough, cold, viral are added issues.
- Romance of driving in rains just got converted into Traffic jams everywhere.
- Freshness of greens, growth, and pehli baarish are now seen in Water clogging, seepage, leakage.
- Once who loved the smell of soil after rain now sees that it gets converted into a quagmire, puddle, mud.
- The carefree girl is now extra cautious.
So what are we going to do???
Well, We will balance it all and let life breathe and grow again. So here is what our monsoon queen shares to all the lovely mothers out there on how to take care of our kids in monsoons and love it again. How to let kids experience rains as we had done in our childhood but with little precautions in place. We can ask kids to keep clean, wash hands regularly, use soap, handwash, sanitizers. And also wear dry clothes to avoid itshing or rashes.
We know rains are important for crops to rain, it’s required for the earth to have water levels maintained through rains. I just can’t stand the after effects of rain. Otherwise, Rains are beautiful as they are one of the natural resources of the Earth. Lets enjoy Monsoon magic in every possible way.
A little care during rains can help us enjoy them along with our kids. Play in rains with little care. So don’t be afraid to jump in rain with your kids just clean yourself and keep dry and be careful. So don’t let the monsoon girl die inside you, let it breathe and come out. Let it get wet and drenched, don’t forget to enjoy each and every season and time and moment in life.
Let’s enjoy rain
It’s a nature’s gain
Magic or madness
Respect monsoons
Just take care & be aware
All natural elements are to respect
We just need to keep balance & have a good connect.
Just keep a balance in life as nature also keeps a balance in the working of Rain, Air, Fire, Sky and Earth.
