Rains and all the things connected to them are wonderful. Be it poetry, romance, water everywhere, greenery, freshness, fun, puddles pakoras, and much more to the list. We enjoy rains but have we ever given a thought of saving this fun for future. Yes, I’m talking about rainwater harvesting. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is a simple method by which rainfall is collected for future usage. The collected rainwater may be stored, utilized in different ways, or directly used for recharge purposes.
Yes, rainwater needs to be stored and reused properly. There is no rocket science in it, you just store rainwater in drums on your rooftop and in open areas around your home. Most importantly, We need to store rainwater to consume it for future use, as it also helps us preserve rainwater for useful purposes otherwise it mainly flows down in the sewer or drainage. Rainwater harvesting comes with lots of benefits. Harvesting rainwater allows the collection of large amounts of water and mitigates the effects of drought. If we observe properly most of the terraces and rooftops provide the necessary platform for collecting water. We just need to take an interest and make it happen. Rainwater is mostly free from harmful chemicals, which makes it suitable for irrigation purposes.
