Ep 3 – Green Talks with Panchtatwa Girl Featuring Anandita Nair

Plastics give a helpful hand, but they are polluting our land!

There is hardly any doubt that the use of plastic products makes life easier. But if we see the ratio between plastic use’s pros and cons, we can see a clearer picture. If we weigh on a balancing machine, the side with the harmful effects is much heavier. The use of plastics leaves behind tons of waste and trash that require cleaning up. They are non-reusable, and if we look around, we will find proof of it. It is proven that plastics are a cause of cancers, congenital disabilities, and so much more. The greatest threat is posed to the marine ecosystem as we do not think twice before dumping all our wastes into the water bodies. These toxic wastes move about in the seas and oceans, and numerous fish, turtles, and other aquatic species confuse these as food items.

In this episode of Praguntatwa talks, My Green Podcast with Panchtatwa Girl, do listen to the voice of a youth who belives in beating plastic pollution because she knows her plastic well. In this episode of Green Talks, let’s hear the views of today’s teenager who is aware and conscious and tell more about how to Know your plastic.

Plastic is everywhere

Plastics are everywhere – in biscuit wrappers, milk packets, toys, and even food containers, in soaps, cosmetics, detergent packaging, and household utensils too. While some plastics are Eco-friendly, others contain harmful chemicals or cause dangerous pollution during manufacturing. Plastic isn’t as simple as you may think. Each plastic around you is different from the other. Some of them are reusable, some are not, and some produce hazardous material even after several uses. Some are easily recyclable, others need more intricate handlings in their recycling process. We are all surrounded by plastic and It’s just impossible to avoid plastics altogether, but you can look for plastics that are safer for your family and the environment. So have you ever thought about how to know your plastic??

Well today I have a teenage guest who knows her plastic, yes she has done a course – Know your plastic by RNisarg foundation. To know more about this course and her views tune into my green podcast. You can listen to the episode on Spotify –
