Thursday Tree Love – Sims Park
Nilgiris – the nature’s paradise
This page is a very beautiful one from my travel diary. Full of greenery and rare plants. A must-see place for nature lovers. Sim’s Park is among one of the beauties of Coonoor city. You can see many varieties of flowers and trees here. It’s a big garden with public utilities. You can have your morning or evening walks here. You will enjoy it.
Sim’s Park in Coonoor is a good example of a visionary and monumental effort to preserve and present the botanical wealth to generations after. Right from the entrance, you will be engulfed by the aura of profoundness and tenacity of life. It’s an awesome feel standing in front of the mighty trees smiling at us in glory. What a completely engaging experience!!!!!! Please do not see this place as an item in your itinerary, but one to absorb the enormity and to reflect. You will cherish the memory for a long time.
There are few trees that are 150 years old. A must visit if you have some time to be with nature when you visit Coonoor.
This little piece of greenery in the center of town will help you unwind and relax in the lap of nature. Some very old trees from all over the world have been collected and can be seen here – easily an exciting place for any botanist. The blooming flowers give an added color to the greenery. It’s a park where kids can enjoy and have fun and also a beautiful place to hang out
This place is a must-go in Coonoor.
Let’s take a walk in Coonoor Sim’s park through the pages of my Nilgiri diaries today.
After going to the beautiful tea gardens around this place this becomes a perfect getaway place for a family, couple, or lone traveler. This place offers a picturesque site for photography and has a couple of beautiful frames to capture. A special place for nature lovers and you will find numerous bird varieties and a few flower varieties not seen around Coonoor. The place offers a boating ride around a small lake. The best time to visit is in the evening till after sunset. Get away from your gadgets and witness the sun rays making way through the thick foliage of trees while the birds play a symphony in the background.
This is a nicely done park with rows and rows of trees going down all the way to a man-made lake. The clean walkways are a delight to watch and of course for strolling. Hope you enjoyed this excellent walk, calm and in nature. I vote it as one of the clean and well-maintained parks.
