Let’s be Conscious About Our Environment on World Nature Conservation Day

World Nature Conservation Day is observed annually on 28 July. It is to remind humankind about the importance of nature and the need to protect it. The day is marked globally to spread awareness about the best practices to protect natural resources. World Nature Conservation Day acknowledges that a healthy environment is a foundation for a stable and healthy society.

World Nature Conservation Day – Time to do your bit

“Conservation means the wise use of the earth and its resources for the lasting good of men.” – Gifford Pincho”

“Conservation is a great moral issue, for it involves the patriotic duty of ensuring the safety and continuance of the nation.” – Theodore Roosevelt

To ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all as responsible human beings must participate to protect and conserve our nature. Not just insides we need to be conscious about our outsides, our surroundings, our nature, our earth. This way we can maintain balance and practice sustainable living.

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and watch what we use and throw away too.
  • Educate people to conserve and preserve
  • Plant a tree
  • Volunteer community cleaning activities.
  • Benefit local community, charities do accept donations.
  • Community organizations are open to volunteers.
  • Be part of creative classes and green workshops
  • Give – Part of simpler living is sharing unused things with those in need. Recycling is a way to give our waste new life, benefit local charities, and keep the environment clean, which in turn gives us cleaner air, water, and soil.
  • Avoid wastage of food, water, and other things too.
  • Switch off lights when not in use, save energy.
  • Use cloth bags instead of plastic bags.

We don’t realize in our daily life that we depend so much on nature and our activities also affect the Earth in return. Therefore, the conservation of nature is of utmost importance to all human beings.

“I choose to look to nature and the joys of nature to keep me going”

In addition, When you take a minute and make the effort to notice our life and nature, you will find the sense of childish wonder deep within you. World Nature Conservation Day is observed to raise awareness about the significance of natural resources and encourage people about the practices of protecting natural resources.

Ways to Embrace Nature in Overcoming Life Challenges on World Nature Conservation Day

I’m a panchtatwa girl and believe in the power of five senses too. Sharing some simple doable ways to embrace nature making our five senses aware too.

Hug a tree – Touch

I would say try and plant a tree but if not possible at least shower your love for the tree. Just hug it and thank the tree for its existence, for giving us oxygen and shade. Just hug a tree and take a deep breath. Smell the tree, feel its bark.

Walk-in nature, feel the Earth.

Admire the sky – Eyes

Spare time to just look at the clouds and admire the sky.

Sound of water – Ears

Listen to the sound of water, even when you are pouring it in the glass. Just the water flowing or pouring can be relaxing if you just listen to it carefully. Go to a nearby stream or if it’s raining just hear the falling drops. If you go to the river or sea try and just listen to the flowing river, the flow, the sounds, listen to what it has to say.

Smell the Earth, take a walk – Nose

Breathe in the fresh air, smell the surroundings, let the nature breath in. Let yourself get soak in nature and feel it.

Meditate outsides and feel the taste of fresh air – Mouth

Just go out, find a comfortable place, be it a terrace, rooftop, park, or anywhere and feel connected to Earth. Be it near the beach, under a tree, even just a bench in the park grab the seat and close your eyes. Smell the surrounding, feel the air in your breath, feel the flavor of mountain or beach in it.

Above all, Use all your five senses when you are sitting or taking a walk and make them feel alive. Let this walk be a gratitude walk to thank the nature for everything around us. Soak yourself in the beauty, enjoy the varied colors, listen to nature’s sounds. Be thankful and show gratitude to the smile and peace the whole scene gives you.

There are many small ways and steps we can do to embrace nature and help conserve nature in our daily life too, it’s just the matter of taking that first step. So why not take that first step on World Nature Conservation Day.

“The Earth will not continue to offer its harvest, except with faithful stewardship. We cannot say we love the land and then take steps to destroy it for use by future generations.” – John Paul II

This sure will transform how you start your day. How you look at nature and how you admire has a positive effect on your day.

  1. Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.

  2. We all need to imbibe these into our lives. I see my mother tending to her kitchen garden and flowering plants in the terrace everyday… Just observing the morning sky.. We lack so much presence in our surroundings.. Taking everything for granted..
